The Fromages Spielhofer cheese dairy from Saint-Irmier in the Bernese Jura has expanded rapidly and significantly in recent years. The GUS-OS Suite supports the uniform management of business processes - across national borders and company locations.
The chance
Fromages Spielhofer is a traditional Swiss cheese dairy founded in 1982 and as such has expanded considerably (internationally) in recent years. Above all, this meant that the processes of the parent company and the new branches had to be integrated and standardized. This was another reason why the company decided to introduce a standardized and cross-company ERP solution. This was to support traceability from purchasing and packaging through to distribution and map the cheese trade. In addition, the new ERP solution needed to further synchronize and automate the flow of goods and information, meet the requirements of food legislation and the IFS Food standard and implement electronic customer connections via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
IT - rethought
Fromages Spielhofer opted for the GUS-OS Suite and took a step-by-step approach to its introduction. From 2020, the new ERP solution was rolled out to four different clients: from the headquarters in Saint-Irmier to the subsidiary in Constance and the Milchkanne AG cheese dairy, which was acquired in 2023. The company initially went live with operations, i.e. with the entire order entry and preparation process, delivery note invoicing and accounting. Since then, the GUS-OS Suite has also been used for purchasing. Fromages Spielhofer has also created various connections via EDI, primarily to B2B customers and partners. The focus is also on the entire production process, including the packaging of the goods. The aim of integrating these is to simplify the entire materials management process. Short paths and very direct communication at GUS enabled cooperation "at eye level".
