The "Sylter Salatfrische" sauce has made the food producer "Zum Dorfkrug" famous throughout the region. The company continues to grow strongly with this evergreen and other sauces and desserts.
The chance
Back in 2007, "Zum Dorfkrug" inaugurated its own industrially organized production facility, in which the food delivered throughout Germany is produced - since 2009 also supported by an ERP system, which over time lacked more and more modern and necessary functions. The company was therefore faced with the decision of either renewing the existing system or switching to a completely new solution. As part of a tender, "Zum Dorfkrug" therefore sounded out which provider would best meet its requirements.
The new solution had to be able to be used across all companies. Zum Dorfkrug" also planned to expand its customer base in the food service sector, for which they needed strong supporting sales and retail functions. Another must was very good batch traceability, not least because of the many existing regulations in the food industry.
IT - rethought
Today, "Zum Dorfkrug" uses the GUS-OS Suite, the solution from GUS ERP GmbH. As it is designed from the outset for the process and food industry, it not only fully covers all of the company's core requirements. The diverse condition systems and agreements that "Zum Dorfkrug" maintains with retailers can also be mapped using the new ERP solution. In addition, the GUS-OS Suite is completely web-based, so that users can work with it from different workstations and without hardware restrictions. Last but not least, the manufacturer of "Sylter Salatfrische" was able to adopt many of the predefined industry-oriented standard workflows on a one-to-one basis. This also means that regular updates can be carried out quickly and largely smoothly. At the same time, the company is able to make simple modifications, such as to operating screens, without additional programming and without affecting the update capability of the overall solution.
