COLOGNE, WALDSTETTEN – Chemische Fabrik Karl Bucher is now using the GUS-OS Suite. This ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution of the GUS Group not only controls all essential operating processes of the Bavarian company, but also automates document management. The GUS Group is a leading provider of integrated software solutions for the process industry and logistics.

When using the GUS-OS Suite, Chemische Fabrik Karl Bucher not only uses the ERP core component of the solution, but also the modules for financial accounting, cost accounting, archiving, laboratory (LIMS, Laboratory Information Management System), costing and capacity planning. The company covers maintenance and servicing through a third-party solution that is to be connected to the GUS-OS Suite via an interface.

Especially with a view to its customers in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, Chemische Fabrik Karl Bucher now also has a solution for document management with the GUS-OS Suite. Now, employees only need the batch number of the respective products and can (re)provide documents with just a few clicks, for example analysis certificates, but also original measurement data. In addition, the GUS-OS Suite prepares the data of the raw materials used that the company needs to be able to create certificates quickly and securely.

“The materials we use are usually dangerous goods,” says Stefan Bucher, Managing Director of Chemische Fabrik Karl Bucher. “That’s why the preparation of the necessary documents such as dangerous goods labels or customs documents is a sensitive and complex task. The GUS-OS Suite also covers this area That way we can handle the entire dangerous goods shipment quickly and safely.” The basis for this is, among other things, Chemdox, a software for the management of dangerous goods materials, which connects the GUS-OS Suite with the material management of the ERP solution via an interface.

“Chemische Fabrik Karl Bucher profits from our many years of experience with the pharmaceutical and chemical industry,” says Jörg Paul Zimmer, Managing Director of GUS Deutschland GmbH. “At the same time, we are developing new functions at the company, such as document management, from which other customers will also be able to benefit.”
